REMINDER! REGULATIONS ON RESIDENCE REGISTRATION IN KYIV

A reminder of the regulations of residence registration in Kyiv

All of Ukraine is waiting for peace and recovery of normal domestic and business relations. Unfortunately, some regions of our Homeland are in a very difficult situation, but fortunately there is good news about the de-occupation of previously occupied territories. The heart of Ukraine and its capital Kyiv is coming back to life, cautiously optimistic. For now, for security reasons, the registers of territorial communities are closed, but we look forward to the early reopening and return of registration activities. We have faith in the Ukrainian military forces and wish to remind you of the regulations of residence registration.

List of documents required

Depending on the category of persons, the list of documents also changes.

For Ukrainian citizens the documents required are the following:

  1. Passport of a citizen of Ukraine

Residence registration in Ukraine for Ukrainian citizens older than 14 is only possible with a passport.

  1. Identification code

According to the current legislation, citizens of Ukraine are obliged to present identification code to register their residence if they have one.

  1. Military ID card or a document replacing it

Citizens liable to military service (men aged from 17 to 60 and women whose profession requires them to register for military service, except those previously deregistered) are obliged to register for military service at their future place of residence. The registration must be carried out before the residence registration documents are submitted.

For foreigners:

Residence permit or other document granting the right to reside in Ukraine

Residence registration in Ukraine is only possible after foreigners have received a document confirming their residence in the country. In addition to a residence permit, such documents may be a refugee certificate or a certificate of a person granted temporary or subsidiary protection.

Notarised copy of the internal passport translated into Ukrainian.

For children:

Birth certificate

Children aged under 14 cannot apply for residence registration on their own. Their parents or guardians may do it for them by virtue of the birth certificate.

Consent of parents or guardians

Persons aged under 18 must obtain a parental consent to register. This consent may be given in person or by a notary.

It is important to remember that children aged under 14 may only be registered at the same address as one or both parents.

If residence registration is carried out for a child whose parents or one of the parents is a foreigner, a certificate of nationality will be required in order to register the child.

Registration authority

Registration in Kyiv is carried out through the Kyiv Administrative Service Centres (CNAP). Only such Centres are entitled to accept documents for residence registration and present them directly to registration bodies of the place of residence. It is not allowed to submit documents for registration in Kyiv through CNAPs in other regions. Term of service - 1 business day.
